Jermyn Carpenter Gothic Methodist Church

Jermyn Methodist ChurchThe carpenter Gothic Revival style Methodist Church in Jermyn, Texas was the first church in the area, and constructed in 1910.  It remained in use for worship services until at least 1979.  You can read more about the church and its style at Suzassippi’s Lottabusha County Chronicles.

      While searching for information, I ran across someone who expressed interest in restoring it, but I don’t see that happening in such a small community. The Baptist church–although not anywhere near as stunning, appears to be well-kept and in regular use, and they have a community center–albeit, not much in the way of community was evident.
