27-31 Basil Street, SW

I always enjoy a variety of architecture, including rear of buildings.  While on our fast track around London, we pulled to a stop next to the Cafe Rouge on Basil Street in Knightsbridge area.

I also enjoy street views, especially in climes where it is pleasant to sit outside.  It is among my favorite things to do in places like Colorado, New York City, Fort Worth, and South Africa.

Fortunately for the later sleuthing, the street name was on the corner of the wall, but it took quite a few “Google trips” around the block to figure out the location.  Cafe Rouge at this location was across the street from Harrod’s, fronted by Hans Road.  It is now Harry’s Dolce Vita, an Italian restaurant with quite a different look and menu.  The site was purchased in 2017 to house the new restaurant.
