New Fall Flowers

Multicolor, Swiss Chard, lavender, and fall mum

Yesterday was another beautiful fall day, even if somewhat windy for the second day in a row. I stopped off at Home Depot and picked up some additions to the fall line-up and was thrilled to find Swiss chard and lavender. I am not sure if I have seen this type of lavender before, but it was the only lavender I have seen this year, so I picked up one.

After I finished potting and cleaning up, Bey and Scruff came out for dinner and I sat on the porch and enjoyed the new color.

Smoked ribs are on the menu for this evening, having been postponed twice now. We’ll be hanging on the hill today and tomorrow as SEC Nation is in town for the game between Kentucky and Ole Miss. Apparently, it has the potential to be (1) a close game, or (2) a runaway game by either team. Both are undefeated at this point, but my source says the Rebels have gotten a little cocky and not responding to coaching. I guess we shall see tomorrow, but with the traffic already horrendous yesterday afternoon, I will await the results from the living room! I have finished gluing the legs on Grandma’s table, and ready to paint and reassemble, so that is the task for today.

May you each have the kind of Friday you choose!

Thank you, Mags. I do like plants and the cats. He does a really great job with them with this new grill. We bought them for when company was coming, and then they did not get to come. It will take a while to use them all, along with the steaks. Thank goodness for freezers!

Your plants are arranged very artfully. I would describe them as a symphony. I don’t know why, but it looks musical to me!

  6. Nice plants. I got one of those with the white flower spikes this spring. I don’t know what it is called but it is still full of blooming spikes. I love it.

  7. It always feels good to add a few more plants to the yard, something different to look at. Yesterday I bought fall mums, and they look really bright and cheery.
